چکیده

Introduction Cholecystectomy is the common operation of the biliary tract. During cholecystectomy cystic duct can be secured with the sutures or clips. Knot tying in open surgery can be easily be learned and performed. However, knot tying becomes challenging and frustrating when performed laparoscopically. In laparoscopy there is lack of direct manual contact with tissue, therefore the sense of feel of tissue is restricted, secondly the image is transmitted to a two dimensional video screen & the laparoscope magnies the image. This accentuates a person's natural tremor and a two dimensional view eliminates true depth perception.[1]

Clipless laparoscopic cholecystectomy--a prospective observational study.

In laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC), cystic duct and artery are normally secured with titanium clips. Intracorporeal ligation is normally superior to extra corporeal knotting. Most studies report of separate and multiple ligations of cystic duct and artery, which are viewed as technically demanding and time consuming. Similarly the harmonic scalpel and 'LigaSure' are prohibitory expensive for ...

Hem-o-lok Clip Found in Common Bile Duct after Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and Common Bile Duct Exploration: A Clinical Analysis Of 8 Cases

Currently laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) and common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) has become the standard surgical procedure for cholecystolithiasis and choledocholithiasis. During the operation cystic duct and vessels are usually controlled by Hem-o-lok clips. However, recently we found clips dropping into CBD in 8 patients during fiberoptic choledochoscope 2-3 months after operation. There...

Cystic Duct Closure by Sealing With Bipolar Electrocoagulation

BACKGROUND Cystic duct leakage after cholecystectomy is not uncommon and is a potentially serious complication. The aim of this study was to assess a bipolar sealing system (LigaSure) for closure of the cystic duct. METHODS The records from consecutive laparoscopic cholecystectomies performed in 2 hospitals with closure of the cystic duct with LigaSure after informed consent were recorded and...

Surgical clip migration following laparoscopic cholecystectomy as a cause of cholangitis

Gallstone disease is a common surgical presentation, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the favoured method of surgical management. Ligation of the cystic duct is usually performed with surgical clips, which have the potential to migrate into the common bile duct with time. This paper describes a case of cholangitis secondary to clip migration in a 42-year-old male patient 9 years after the in...

Hem-o-Lok Clip in the First Part of Duodenum after Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) and common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) have become the standard surgical procedure for cholecystolithiasis and choledocholithiasis. During the operation, cystic duct and vessels are usually controlled by Hem-o-Lok clips. We report a case with a complaint of severe abdominal pain for the previous 20 days. Her medical history was unremarkable except for laparos...
